This is your Go-to reference for SNP information in one location. No longer do you have to research each SNP individually. Included in Compendium 1, for each SNP, there are Cliff Notes for a quick overview, cited research for further details, and "Our 2 cents", which are clinical pearls, based on our Practitioner's perspective.
This is a learning guide for referencing individual SNPs, where they are visually placed in their enzymatic pathways, and include nutritional cofactors that are needed for optimal function.
This information is formatted in an easy to understand dictionary style, including methylation MTHFR Variants and its associated pathways laid out in an easy-to-understand format. We recommend printing out the pathways when looking at SNPs, so you can see their placement in the biochemical pathways and the nutrient cofactors needed for their optimal function.
This Compendium 1 is designed to assist both the Layman and Practitioner in making sense of a Variant Report or a PDF list of SNPs from other Apps.
This Compendium 1 is over 300 pages, tracks with Sterlings App, and includes the following SNPs :
- Phase 1 and 2 Liver Detox SNPs
- Methylation SNPs
- Alcohol SNPs
- Histamine SNPs
- Neurotransmitter SNPs
- Mitochondrial SNPs (Electron Transport Chain)
This Compendium 1 is a compilation of four years of research gathered by Sterling and Cynthia, and our co-worker, Carolyn Ledowsky, an ND in Australia and MTHFRsupport.au, assisting with edits and key inputs. This is a labor of love by us, as we strived to provide information to those who are attempting an understanding of SNPs and their application, without the hassle of solo researching each SNP.
Caveat we subscribe to; always look at symptoms and health issues in light of genetics/SNPs. Symptoms are the intersection of SNPs and lifestyle, so lifestyle/exposures are important to consider when understanding SNP expression. MTHFRsupport.com is a good resource when looking at SNPs in light of (non)health conditions.
NOTE: Upcoming Compendium 2 will include immune system SNPs and pathways, autoimmune, grouped, and GI. It will also include the pentose phosphate pathway and the urea cycle pathway. Release is TBD as we are currently researching and adding SNPs to the spreadsheet, and its huge, but will be parsed into easy to understand groupings in the Variant Report and subsequent Compendium 2. As the writer of Compendium 1, my guess is that Compendium 2 will be twice as lengthy as Compendium 1.
